We live on opposite sides of the world as Joe lives in China and I live in the UK but whenever we are both in the same place we makes sure to do a trip to Slovakia to enjoy ourselves in out mini oasis
The chalet
Escape into your own world when you stay in our quaint forest chalet located in the foothills of the Tatras mountain range.
This beautiful 3 bedroom chalet is the perfect place for people looking to explore the surrounding countryside whether that be walking, biking, hiking, skiing or just relaxing.
Our chalet will make the perfect stay for your holiday.
The space
The chalet has space for 8 people in three separate bedrooms. The cottage is equipped with hot and cold water, gas and electricity. There is a wood burning stove in the living room as well as a wall mounted electric heater and three portable radiators in the bedrooms.
The main door opens into a small lobby, suitable for leaving outdoor shoes and clothing, especially in winter.
The kitchen / dining room is equipped with a corner bench with a table. It has a gas hob, electric oven, fridge, microwave, as well as plenty of crockery, cutlery and saucepans and other kitchen equipment so cooking if you tire of eating out is very easy.
The living room is comfortable with a sofa and a couple of armchairs. There is a TV with access to local TV channels. The main bathroom, which is located off the living room has a shower enclosure, toilet and sink as well as a washing machine and heated towel rail.
The downstairs bedroom is connected to the living room and has an en-suit bathroom. This has a shower, sink and toilet.
On the right side of the entrance to the living room is the staircase to the bedrooms. It is a ladder type staircase. The staircase is quite steep, and not is suitable for people who have difficulty walking, or any handicap in terms of gait. It has a hand rail, lighting and auxiliary handles.
Upstairs are two bedrooms. The bedroom on the right sleeps three, the left is double room with a king size bed and with extra bed. This bedroom also has access to a small balcony with stunning forest views.
It is ideal for families with children, or groups of adults, who want to escape from the hustle and bustle.
The chalet can sleep 7 adults comfortably, and up to 8 or 9 people if the group includes children who are happy to “bunk up” together – either with their parents or together in the upstairs room on the right.
Fresh bed linen and towels are provided for all guests, and all beds will be made-up. At the end of your stay, after you have gone, we will strip the beds and change all the sheets, which is what the “cleaning charge” of ??euros covers.
Guest access
The Enchanted Forest Chalet is situated about 25Om (2-4min walk) from the cogwheel railway station – Tatransky Lieskovec. You will need to park near here and walk the rest.
There will be cut logs provided to keep the wood-burning stove going during your stay.
The quoted price covers up to 7 people, which seems the ideal number of adults for the lodge. It is possible to accommodate 2 or 3 more children/adults on the fold down beds, and there is an additional per person charge in this case.
Good Walking boots required!
As there is no road access directly to the chalet – good walking boots are required as the short walk through the forest can get muddy. It is very exciting though!
